Howard Poll Rudd (MELBOURNE)

KEVIN RUDD says JOHN HOWARD is not too old to be prime minister .. he's just out of touch.

His comments follow the leaking of an internal Liberal Party poll .. which reveals
voters see the prime minister as old and dishonest.

Mr RUDD has told Southern Cross Broadcasting the government has run out of ideas ..

and has lost touch with concerned and working families on the cost of living and housing
affordability.

He's also rejected the pollster's finding that he's seen as a younger version of his counterpart.

And Mr HOWARD believes the coalition's position has improved .. since the leaked dossier
was compiled.

He says people have reacted positively to a number of recent government initiatives.

The Prime Minister has started the week with another attack on Labor's economic credibility

as an indication of how KEVIN RUDD would manage the economy.

In his weekly radio message .. the PM says the states will run up 70 billion dollars

A new bill .. which contains legislation allowing the takeover of Aboriginal communities
for five years .. will be introduced into federal parliament tomorrow.

Haneef (BRISBANE)

Meantime the Prime Minister has rejected DR HANEEF'S request to be made an honorary Australian.

JOHN HOWARD says the category doesn't exist .. and anyway it wouldn't be appropriate.

Australia's about to be swamped by an entire generation whose brains have been damaged

day over the same period are at risk of alcohol-related brain injury.
